Oysters

We sell oysters!  Over 20 different varieties from the East Coast and over 10 from the West based mainly on the time of year.  If you want to know more please email or call us, we have a list that, while very consistent, still contains some seasonal variation.  We can email you a price list and brief but comprehensive descriptions of the oysters that we carry.  For customers that are interested we also update availability via email Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

East Coast Oysters

The bulk of our selection is from the east coast of the United States and Canada. The vast majority of the oysters on the east coast are the native species, the Eastern Oyster (Crasosstrea Virginica), all of the Eastern oysters we sell are farmed. We also sell Belons or European Flats from Maine, the Belon is a European species that was once farmed on the east coast but now has a wild population in Maine, those are available seasonally.

West Coast Oysters

There are four species of oysters available from the West Coast. the most common is the Pacific Oyster (Crassostrea Gigas), then there are Olympias (the native oyster of the American West), Kumamotos (a subspecies of the Pacific Oyster originally native to southern Japan), and the Eastern Oyster, which are grown by a few farms in California and Washington. We carry Pacific Oysters, Olympias, and Kumamotos.
